On Tuesday, 25 February 2025 the Arsakeia–Tositseia Schools, in collaboration with Mozarteum Hellas,
presented the event “Mozart Travels to the Arsakeio–Tositseio Schools” at the Theatre of the Arsakeia–Tositseia Schools of Ekali.
February 2025 was dedicated to the work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and through his music the students journeyed into the era of this gifted composer. This experience was captured in an experiential musical event that took place on Tuesday, 25 February 2025.
The event featured a special guided tour of the house where Mozart was born, which belongs to the International Mozarteum Foundation. The tour was conducted by Mr. Linus Klumpner, Director of the Museums of the International Mozarteum Foundation, and Ms. Evgenia Votanopoulou, President of Mozarteum Hellas and Music Teacher at the Arsakeia Schools of Psychiko.
The internationally renowned Greek soprano Sonia Theodoridou captivated young and adult audiences alike with her exceptional artistry, guiding them into Mozart’s musical world.
The Music Ensemble of the Arsakeia–Tositseia Schools (children’s and mixed youth choir), together with members of the GraduArti Alumni Choir, presented excerpts from Mozart’s famous opera The Magic Flute, under the direction of the responsible teacher Christina Varsami-Koukni.
The choir was accompanied by distinguished artists: pianist Evgenia Votanopoulou; Nina Patrikidou, violinist and Vice President of Mozarteum Hellas; cellist Aris Zervas; double bassist Elli Dadira; and the students Yiannis Iatrou and Angeliki Chrysafi.
A Mozart sonata for piano four hands was performed by pianists Christina Varsami-Koukni and Evgenia Votanopoulou.
The talented young student of the School, Maria Dalkidou, performed on the piano the third movement of Mozart’s Sonata No. 16.
Of particular importance was the active participation of 700 students of the 5th and 6th grades of the Arsakeia–Tositseia Primary Schools of Psychiko and Ekali, who approached Mozart’s work experientially in an educational celebration.
